Welcome to the Junior Book Club!

Hi! I am Priya. I am a language teacher. I have written this book blog for over ten years, sharing my love for reading and reviewing books for different publishers. I also ran a book club for like-minded folk in Bangalore. Reading is like exercise for the mind. The more we read, react and reflect, the better we equip ourselves to think and express. Join me on this journey to becoming better thinkers!

There is a perfect book out there for each of us! American educator Jim Trelease calls this the “home run book,” a book that sparks a lifelong interest in reading; and can turn every kid into a bookworm! The more you’re exposed to diverse pleasure reading, the more shared reading experiences you have, the closer you get to finding your perfect read.

Introducing the Tabula Rasa Junior Book Club, your one stop to bond over books and reading! Recommended ages: 9-16.

Every month, you will:
1. get introduced to 2 new books and read selected excerpts
2. reflect and express your thoughts on diverse themes
3. practise different reading strategies
4. learn and apply new vocabulary
5. get a platform to share recommendations and develop a love for reading books

Quote of the Month

People get inspired to write, paint, draw, sing, sculpt, dance in many different ways. And there are many types of art. But the one thing that they all have in common is that they are all a sort of magic. Sometimes the magic flows from one’s fingers, other times it is transferred to the person who experiences the result. Magic has always worked in mysterious ways.
