Do you read one book at a time?

I just realized, that I’ve gone an entire two months without taking part in a single meme!

Follow Friday is a weekly bookish meme hosted at Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read. This week’s question is:
Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

I used to read one book at a time earlier. But now, I am usually reading two or three books at time. Especially when one of the books is huge and I know is going to take a lot of time to finish. Right now, for instance, I am reading Anna Karenina, which is huge, and The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe.
I also read different books from multiple genres, so I don’t get bored. You know, if I am not in the mood to read a science fiction book at a certain point of time, I switch to a mystery, and back again!
What about you? Do you prefer reading just one book at a time?

  1. I read half of Anna Kerenina and loved it, but then it was overdue at the library and returned it, intending on checking it back out but never did. It had some truly fantastic quotes.

I can only read one book at a time. I like being completely sucked into a world and if I try for another book I get too ADD with them lol.

  3. When I'm reading really huge books I might read more at a time, but I rarely do so.. Mostly one book in one sitting and that's that!

  6. I'm usually reading a fiction book and a non fiction book all the time, but sometimes everything spirals out of control and I'm reading about 5! I try not to do that though cause it hurts my brain!

  7. Happy Friday!

I can read a textbook & leisure book simultaneously but I have trouble reading two "fun" books at once.

  8. I also like to read a couple of books at a time from different genres. I get too confused if the books I'm reading are too similar!
