RIP Ray Bradbury

RIP Ray Bradbury

“Ray Bradbury wrote three great novels and three hundred great stories. One of the latter was called ‘A Sound of Thunder.’ The sound I hear today is the thunder of a giant’s footsteps fading away. But the novels and stories remain, in all their resonance and strange beauty.” – Stephen King

What a beautiful thing to say. There is a great line about Death (there are many, actually, about age and death) from Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, one of my favourite horror-fantasy novels:
“The father hesitated only a moment. He felt the vague
pain in his chest. If I run, he thought, what will happen? Is Death important?
No. Everything that happens before Death is what counts. And we’ve done fine
tonight. Even Death can’t spoil it.”
